Beautiful friends!

I have such lovely friends. Favorite thing about the holidays this year- I get to see these beauties!
Miss you all.
xoxo
{p.s. shown here in front of our massive tree. We have what like 10 ft. ceilings & Dad decided to buy a 11-something ft. tree. Slight problem, but nothing that couldn't be fixed with a couple of manly saws!}

the girls who stare at goats

Ally & I went to take care of the M's farm yesterday. We especially enjoyed staring down the goats!

Christmas is coming

Beautiful Sundays

Peace be to you and grace from Him who freed us from our sin
Who loved us all, and shed his blood that we might saved be.
Sing holy, holy to our Lord, the Lord almighty God
Who was and is, and is to come Sing holy, holy Lord.
Rejoice in heaven, all ye that dwell therein, rejoice on earth, ye saints below
For Christ is coming, is coming soon.
E'en so Lord Jesus quickly come and night shall be no more.
They need no light, no lamp, nor sun, for Christ will be their All!
I really don't want this break to be over! Why does it go by so quickly? It was perfect and I was in desperate need of relaxation. I slept in until 8:00 or 8:30 most days, read books, thought about writing college essays : ), went outside, took care of people's animals, got a pedicure with K, played Frisbee with a large group of punks, went running {barefoot} at Jetton park with K, bought purple pants, watched hours of "the Soup," watched "Up" with the family, met up with Sarah & Maria, celebrated K's belated bday with grandparents & the Flems, & practiced some yoga. The family plus Guion walked to St. Alban's today for church & the weather is currently so glorious it is hard to believe it is almost December!
Christmas time is my fave!!!

How we celebrated

We took awkward family photos. . . ate more food that we knew was possible. . . lounged around. . . talked about politics and babies {no surprise here}. . . did some acrobatics & some yoga. . . & we tickled kittehs.

We might be strange, but I sure love ma famille!

I think I am going to go eat some pumpkin pie for breakfast.

yes

{p.s. traffic is way fun}

top of creepy davis library

home

how i spent my time at unc: reading this book, sitting, walking, running, NOT doing yoga in the galleries, eating food, & doing lots of lonely-person-type wandering. . .

i had never seen unc grey and rainy until monday & tuesday. it was sad to see it like that. i guess that I naively always thought it was bright & sunny there!
the drive up was maddening (driving in the dark & in the rain = no fun), but i made it there in time. i dropped off my car in carrboro then ran all the way back to k's dorm (in a skirt!). on my way back, i had an interesting experience crossing the street- involved a large woman & her wheelchair & the police! - everything was fine in the end, no worries!
i got to go to k's drama class. after, i walked through the downpour to ackland & was told that the yoga class was canceled. fun times! at this point i kinda wanted to cry.
the day did get better & i ate lunch with some friends & read 200 pages from weldon's book & took a nap on the couch in davis library.
by far the best part of the day was doing yoga with k, shannon, kari, & diane late on monday night (after making pancakes for the dorm community).
tuesday was similar to monday & i did a good bit of walking 'round campus. the union & davis & i are now good friends.
{p.s. i did get to go on one of k's campus tours too! sadly, i did not have the guts to ask her really embarrassing questions though}

on the road again

Leaving for UNC tomorrow night. Kels is anxious to see me I guess and has convinced me to leave after the open house at the Beehive tomorrow.
On my way to babysit in a little while. . . still need to do my French project, finish my research paper, read, and pack.
{p.s. I want it for Christmas!}

. . .

"You have to live in today. . . today the city is something bigger, more complex than ever before in history. And nothing can be gained from running away. I couldn't even if I could." - Georgia O'Keeffe
Currently working on a research project on Georgia O'Keeffe and her relationship with different locations {example: NYC}. She fell in love with it and for good reason!
{my photos from the city. . . *third one reminds me of this ridiculous movie}

When in NY. . .

Yes, it is true, this is one of my favorite things about the city! I love that there are thousands of these little street-side shops on every corner.
I'd be happy to be here right now! It just makes my little heart happy.
{I will continue to post more pictures in the next few days}

November 18

Dear Kelsey,

Thank you for being born on this day 20 years ago! Thank you for being a constant source of love and affirmation. You inspire me like mad!

I am truly amazed that we're still friends and sisters and that we never have never been in a fight. . . {even if we're insanely competitive and independent people}.

I hope that you have a beautiful day.

Happy 20th Birthday!

I love you very much-
Your little sis

P.S. I cannot wait to celebrate with you over Thanksgiving!!! I have a whole day planned. . .
